Custom Shea Formulation 101 Workshop
This workshop is designed to be fun, while still informative, in a relaxed atmosphere, with the main activity of providing the materials and introducing participants to the art and science of creating natural product formulations that work. The course will provide participants the fundamentals in formulation science and applied chemistry of personal care product development. During instruction, time will be provided for attendees to explore their own formulation ideas, under the guidance and structure of applied chemistry from formulation experts. Formulation training will be provided alongside FDA guidelines and additional information about ingredient testing and grading.
After course completion attendees should be able to determine the chemical function of their product formula and how to properly support their product claims, understand the relationship of selected formulation ingredients, be able to prepare a variety of personal care products, determine how to avoid harmful chemicals during product development and thus adapt formulations to suit specific individual and personal preferences in developing personal care products that work.
Shea Formulation 101 is an introductory course, individuals interested in completing further education credits can earn their Diploma in Personal Care Formulation as an ASBI certified shea formulation specialist.
